WP 1: Coordination of the project
WP Leader: Dr Åke Sellström (CBRNE-Center). WP interaction Contact
Work description Coordinating MASH will require the use of normal tools and skills for managing an international project with relatively senior and independent partners. However, there are two areas where the coordination will become critical to the overall performance: - The different Work Packages (WPs) of MASH depend on each other, therefore timing and interaction between the WPs are key factors. - The active involvement of a reference group, representing the EU 27, is essential to this study. Energy and care will be spent keeping this group informed and bringing them together for four seminars. At this point, twelve out of the EU 27 have expressed an active interest in participating and becoming the projects disseminating group. Involving the reference group is a task for the management. The management of the project will consist of coordinator Dr Åke Sellström and assistant coordinator Dr Ann Göransson Nyberg. The management will keep track of time tables, progress and costs of each WP. It will ensure that WPs are coordinated and that necessary interactions occur. Spreading information within the project is also a job for the management and will be done using the web. Every other week short newsletters will be distributed, keeping the project members updated on news, meetings and the progress of the project. The steering committee, the management and the WP leaders, will be jointly responsible for planning the project. It will guarantee the quality of the methods of choice and also be responsible for the quality of the final report. The steering committee will however, always retain the right to adhere to the contract between the Commission and the project. Should the project become dysfunctional, the coordinator will seek contact with EAHC.
