Objectives
The objective of our active dissemination strategy is to relay information back to relevant end-users as well as to gain valuable input from all interested parties. This will be done in order to obtain the most comprehensive overview of the state of preparedness for C and R mass casualty incidents in Europe today.

Work description
As stated in above; the outcome of our study will support the Commission’s effort of improved generic preparedness planning. Likewise, the outcome will be of value for the national and local preparedness planning of the member states, as well as for the effectiveness of medical efforts during emergencies.
Dissemination to the three target groups, i.e. health planners of the Commission, health planners of the member states and, within each member state, the local planners and operative medical personnel, will be ensured. The dissemination plan involves regular seminars to discuss the issue of mass casualties following the release of harmful chemicals or the release of radioactive material in a wide European context. Furthermore, according to the plan there will be reports (D5) delivered to the Commission and there will be peer review articles (D3) published in scientific journals.
Reports and publications will reach out in a very broad, but relatively unspecific way. The most valuable way to reach a wide European context will be ensured by our reference group representing the medical planner and end-user perspective of the EU 27 as well as representing the Commission. The reference group will meet an estimated four times for critical reviews and discussions concerning the outcome of the WPs. Members of the reference group have been asked to devote themselves and serve as the dissemination group of the project.

Milestones
The deliverables of the dissemination strategy include the deliverables/products from most of the Work Packages, i.e. technical and scientific reports and seminars (D2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9).  These products will be used to distribute information to relevant representatives and authorities within the EU.  They will also serve as an avenue for further input and contribution by those states not included in the partnership.
